Your life is your signature creation and you are the one who is responsible to love yourself, and understand your choices, your preferences and your likes and dislikes. The mission of your life is not to earn a few million dollars but to appreciate yourself. Loving whatever you have, creating what you like and loving what you create is the key to many of your problems that keep bothering you. If you love yourself, you can give love to others.

By now, you must have realized how important it is to cultivate self-love within you. Now the question that clicks in mind is how you can love yourself. Following are keys to loving yourself and transforming your mind, body and soul:

Look Inside You to Feel Good
You must practice daily to look inside yourself to feel good. This means you must evaluate and analyze your self-worth from within you and not the outer world. Your accomplishments and outer-appearances like your looks, academic qualifications, your house, car, family, children and other people’s opinions about you are not the real judge of your life. Stop paying attention to and responding to what is happening in the outer world, instead focus within on yourself and think how you can deal with the outer factors. This empowers you to face the ups and downs of life.

Avoid Value-Judging Yourself

This is important as value judging yourself means lowering your self-esteem. Remove “ought-to’s” and “should” from your vocabulary as they lead to value judging of yourself. It is of no use to tease your mind thinking ‘you should have taken that step in the past’ or ‘what should be done in the future’. Your past actions were as per your level of awareness and what you will do shall be decided with time. The best technique is to make wise decisions for yourself and take out some time for considering the consequences you are willing to pay. When you are willing to pay the price of your choice, you must go forward.
Do Not Compare Yourself to Others
Life is not a race. Standards of excellence are essential to progress but are not a tool to measure your worthiness. Therefore, instead of competing yourself with others, you must focus on your gifted skills and develop them. To discover your gifted skills and qualities, know your interests and your observations in others that you want to experience.
